Online resource production

This resource was developed by Eleanor Stanley (Stories for Health), with Joanna Goodrich and Bev Fitzsimons (Point of Care Foundation). The content of this resource was written by Emma Hyde and John Powell (Health Experiences Research Group). Video interviews were recorded by Susan Kirkpatrick and Ruth Sanders (Health Experiences Research Group). Ruth Sanders selected and edited the videos for this resource. Thanks to members of the Patients Carers and Public Reference Group who commented on the resource.

The resource draws on the findings from the INQUIRE monograph (a detailed written study), and is illustrated with quotes from self-completed questionnaires with 1,001 UK doctors, 749 nurses and midwives, a focus group with five allied health professionals and in-depth ethnographic case studies in four NHS trusts. The resource also includes quotes and video clips from 37 qualitative interviews with patients and their family members.

Video clips are also included with expert representatives from the INQUIRE Project Symposium.

With thanks to the Point of Care Foundation for hosting the resource on its website.
