ICS health inequalities framework

Care Quality Commission, The Point of Care Foundation, National Voices 12 February 2025 Toolkit

A self-assessment and improvement framework for integrated care systems (ICSs)

Topics and programmes

This self-assessment and improvement framework is for integrated care systems (ICSs). It’s a voluntary resource to support ICSs in reducing health inequalities by improving the way they engage with people and communities.

The framework is designed to stimulate honest reflection, shared learning and practical action planning at all levels of engagement. It links to People and Community strategies, and encourages a whole-system approach to embedding meaningful engagement and reducing health inequalities.

The framework is published by the Care Quality Commission and was developed in partnership with the Point of Care Foundation and National Voices, with funding from the Regulators’ Pioneer Fund.
