Jocelyn Cornwell, Chief Executive, comments:
“We welcome the attention that is now being paid to these important issues nationally. The substantial body of research evidence demonstrating that staff experience shapes patients’ experience of care, makes us doubly concerned about the increasing and – in some cases – intolerable pressures on staff. We are concerned about the staff themselves and also for patients, because if staff are stressed and demoralised, they are less likely to be mentally and emotionally available to patients.”
