Laura has been working as the Programme Lead: Schwartz Rounds in Higher Education since January 2022. In November 2024, Laura became the Schwartz Rounds Programme Lead.

Prior to this, she was a Senior Lecturer and Programme Director in Clinical Psychology at the University of Liverpool. Having been a qualified clinical psychologist for over 30 years, much of Laura’s career has been spent working in the NHS in the North West of England in community services for adults with intellectual disabilities, as well as working in universities training clinical psychologists.

Laura has been running interprofessional Schwartz Rounds for healthcare students at the University of Liverpool since 2016. She is a Schwartz Round facilitator and led the University of Liverpool’s Schwartz North project, which enabled nine universities in the North of England to run Schwartz Rounds with students. She is also involved in a number of student Schwartz Rounds research and evaluation projects.
